In 2019 we started a big data collection among villages in the Offinso Municipality. We collected the data from 33 Communities. Information we collected included the number of farmers in the specific villages, their date of birth, the number of dependants and the size of their farms. By analysing and connecting the information we were able to connect the farmers with different institutions like the Department of Agriculture, the Cocoa Health and Extension Division, the Forestry Department, the Local Authority as well as other NGO’s like Farmline. Through these connections farmers get the access to trainings, credit facilities and foundations which help them to sustain their farms.
Our data collection also gives about 800 farmers the possibility to link up with each other to support each other, speak in one voice to policymakers and share their ideas and best practice.
